Compact Fluorescent 18 watt Vertical Lamp
This is a large version of a recessed downlight which uses a two pin PLC fluorescent bulb. A conventional ballast is placed through the hole into the ceiling.
The advantage of this is that the bulbs last up to 10,000 hours, the manufacturer does not supply bulbs so these need to be ordered separately.
These lights are a more attractive option than the exposed spiral or U shaped energy saving bulbs, which only last 2 to 5000 hours depending on quality.
