This fitting will drive up to 16 Lumos bannister lights.
An LED driver converts the mains power at 220 / 240 volts AC to direct current (DC) at 12 volts. and controls the current to the LED. This is important to preserve the longevity of the LED.
A transformer simply converts the 220/240 volts AC to 12 volts AC and has no surge protection.
Residents of USA and Canada need a driver designed for 110/120 volts and with local certification, these will be more cost effective to buy locally. You will need an "LED Driver output 12 volts DC and of power 1 watt per light."
